European Network of Democracy Workshops is a cooperation of 7 partner organizations from the following countries: Spain, Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary. Together they target to contribute to the process of European understanding.

We tend to develope ideas in order to find solutions for European conflicts and for intercultural questions. All these happen through an effective cooperation between the project partners and between young adults who always keep the concept of an active European citizen in their mind.

… Cultural Diversity and …

We organise non-formal training for young adults between the age of 16-26 who (are interested in different democratic and antirassistic topics. The trainings take shape in workshops which were developed by us. Therefore we have organized an international teamer group who has been developing the content and methods of the workshops related to intercultural learning and antiracist project work.

Tolerance concrete!

During the workshops participants and teamers meet multiculturalism, multiethnic and multireligious background, experience cultural diversity and tolerance. During the workshops, which are organised as a two week long summer meeting, young adults acquire intercultural knowledge and competences, besides these they make contacts and new friendships. This contributes to the process of European integration,(in which our summermeeting is a lively event created by enthusiastic teamerpool). The participating European project partners started a keen cooperation in the project.

Summer meeting 2008

Experience Europe …

During the Barcelona summer meeting you will get the possibility to take part in different workshops on various topics that are related to Europe. Every workshop will be led by trained and experienced young teamers. You will have the chance to share and change experiences, discuss interesting questions and to come to know different views and attitudes of other young people from different countries of Europe.

… and create together!

On the last day all participants will introduce the results of their work. The aim is to formulate proposals to the European Youth Policy based on the discussions and experiences of the workshops, and involve them into the political process in Europe.

To learn - but in different way!

Every young participant will acquire new skills and in this way they will gain experiences. In order to help this process we are going to work with different methods in our workshops. You will work with simulation- and role - games, photo and video, interviews, films, excursions,- for instance when discovering the traces of different cultures in Barcelona. All workshops will be presented at the beginning of the summer school where you can decide, in which workshop you would like to participate in.

Organisation of the workshops

You will have the possibility to take part in more than one workshop during the two weeks. If you are interested in more topics you also can join five different themes, in order to get acquainted wit new topics and people.

Accomodation

The Summerschool will be organised in one of the most vivid and interesting European metropolis. The accommodation will be in a Youth Hostel called „Delta del Llobregat”. This youth hostel is a modern, barrier free building; its structure is based on ecologic aspects. Barcelona can be reached within 30-45 minutes by bus. Participation fee of the summer meeting includes travel cost (*), accommodation and board. This financial contribution for German and Spanish citizens: 300 Euro (* incl. trav.-costs up to max. 150 Euro) For Czech, Slovakian and Hungarian citizens: 150 Euro
